THE Liskeard and Looe Methodist Circuit is holding a circuit welcome service for a new minister and two part-time lay employees.

The Rev Chloe Jones and lay employees Anita Courtiour Nicholson and Liz Lane will be introduced to worshippers from across the circuit on Wednesday (September 6) at Trevelmond Methodist Chapel at 7pm.

Anglican minister the Rev Jones moved to the manse at Looe towards the end of August from Somerset.

The Methodist Church has granted her ‘authorised to serve’ status, which means she will be regarded as if she were a Methodist minister.

She will be a part-time replacement for the recently retired the Rev Andrew Hill.

Anita Courtiour Nicholson, from Pillaton, and Liz Lane, from Warleggan, have taken up the roles of ministerial support worker and as lay pastoral worker respectively.

In addition, the circuit service will welcome intern student Maddie Taylor, from Liskeard, who joins for a year from the Methodist Connexion’s One Programme
