Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service say flooding affected several areas of Cornwall last night and this morning following heavy rainfall.

An accident affected the A390 at East Taphouse, with diversion routes reportedly blocked.

A spokesman said: ‘Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service had a busy night attending multiple flooding incidents throughout the county.’

There are reports of standing water across Cornwall, with drivers urged to take care on the roads

Rain is forecast to ease this afternoon, and this evening’s Man Engine appearance at the Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge, is due to go ahead. The event was moved there from Lostwithiel because of waterlogged ground.
