THE weather has been causing havoc around south east Cornwall this morning.
Driving conditions are hazardous everywhere, with Caradon Police warning drivers to take care.
Officers said they were dealing with ’several road traffic collisions due to aquaplaning on the A38’.
’Please slow down and drive e carefully,’ they warned on social media.
Surface water on many minor roads is building, while some places are already flooded.
With rain forecast to continue through the day, conditions can only worsen, say the authorities.
Environment Agency flood warnings are in place around Looe and on the River Lynher from Berriowbridge to Notter Bridge, where flooding has been reported.
And high winds have caused problems too, with the Tamar bridge closed to high-sided vehicles this morning.
The sporting programme has been devastated, with many fixtures cancelled.
