A feature in the current edition of the Cornish Times tells how Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink Day to raise money to pay for life-saving research will be held on October 19.

The campaign is one of the most popular fundraising events in the UK with thousands of people wearing pink in their communities, schools or workplaces.

Since the first event in 2002, more than £31.5m has been raised for life-saving research which aims to discover how to prevent breast cancer, detect it earlier and effectively treat it to stop the disease killing people.

Work colleagues can dress up in pink and join in a fundraising sweepstake or a quiz, while schools can have a non-uniform day.

There are plenty of resources available on the charity’s website, including cake recipes, invite cards and posters, to help you decide how to raise some money for this essential research.

To join in Wear It Pink Day register on the charity’s wearitpink.org website or call 0333 2070300.
