AS the New Year fast approaches we hope that peace is restored in Iraq. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of England and must be proud of it. We need to support the government in the fight against anti-social behaviour, which should have been addressed long ago. We need police back on the streets and not driving around in cars. I personally would like to see the return of National Service which would teach young people some meaning to life and discipline. There is so much stress in our lives and bureaucracy has gone absolutely stupid. The gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider. We must love our neighbour as ourselves, which is not always easy. I feel things must turn around and would like to see this happen sooner rather than later. I would like to wish one and all a peaceful New Year.
