St Dominick’s new initiative to enhance and publicise many historic footpaths in the village has taken some more big steps forward.
A 20-strong volunteer group spent a Saturday in the woods installing more new steps on a popular walking route and also constructing some rustic seating for walkers to rest.
The St Dominica Heritage Trails Working Group recently created a set of steps on a sloping section of Nannie Rowe’s Woods near Cotehele and also levelled more stretches of a long adjoining path.
The group’s Gary Lovejoy said: ‘This was the second building stage of an extensive plan for the ancient trails surrounding the village, a concept that recently won a £10,000 Tesco grant for local community projects. It is planned to have the scheme fully launched in April.’
