The General Election result for the South East Cornwall constituency is still awaited.

The count is taking place at the Polkyth Leisure Centre in St Austell.

The venue is smaller than the usual counting hall at the Royal Cornwall Showground at Wadebridge and this has resulted in a reduced number of vote counters and so a longer wait for the result.

The hall at the showground can’t be used because it is housing the cattle being exhibited at this year’s show which is currently on.
