A QUIZMASTER is helping to promote local businesses with a virtual pub crawl.
Since lockdown began, Matt Davies has been hosting the weekly ’Stay Inn Virtual Pub Quiz’ from his home in St Cleer.
Themed weeks have included teams wearing red, white and blue for VE Day, and a rock and roll quiz where Matt hosted dressed as Gene Simmons from Kiss.
This week Matt decided to do something different as well as support and promote the local pubs, which have had to be closed during the pandemic.
Publicans from the area will be helping to host tomorrow night’s quiz by introducing their pub and asking a few questions.
And in the meantime Matt is encouraging participants to visit as many local pubs as possible to take a selfie, and share on social media using #stayinnpubcrawl. So far Matt has visited eight pubs himself and has plans to create a short video promoting these pubs.
He said: ’I hope that by others visiting their local to take a selfie, it may encourage them to visit again when pubs reopen - or to use any services they are currently operating such as takeaways or shopping facilities.
’During this week’s quiz, I’ll share other people’s selfies and set the challenge of visiting as many local pubs in the next week as we can.’
