RESIDENTS of Landrake have thanked the owners of their village shop from the bottom of their hearts for the service provided during the pandemic.
Teresa Mabin and Michelle Yeoman have provided a lifeline during the lockdown, said Charles Smith-Jones, especially to those who are unable to access public transport or travel away from their homes.
’Teresa and Michelle have laboured tirelessly throughout the crisis to keep the shop open and ensure that essential supplies have always been available, as well as making home deliveries to vulnerable or more isolated members of the Landrake community,’ he said.
’Throughout the pandemic visitors to the shop have always been assured of a cheerful welcome, an unceasing can-do attitude, and scrupulous attention to their safety.’
Local people gathered outside the shop and post office to hear chair of the Parish Council Mervyn Gingell give a short speech. Teresa and Michelle were then presented a certificate of appreciation, along with a gift of money collected around the village.
’This will ensure that they can treat themselves to some richly deserved pampering, in addition to a card, handmade by Landrake resident Margaret Knowles and listing the donors, as well as many more cards containing personal messages.’
