AN East Cornwall church has been shortlisted for an award for the best maintained church.
St Sampson’s Church in South Hill, near Callington, has been shortlisted for the Naylor Award for Excellence in Church Maintenance, with the winner due to be announced on Friday (November 19).
The event is designed to celebrate the magnificent efforts of the thousands of volunteers who look after the UK’s church buildings. The awards are run by the National Churches Trust in conjunction with The Pilgrim Trust.
Director of the Pilgrim Trust Sue Bowers says that “these awards raise awareness and celebrate some of the fantastic work that takes place in many churches, mostly by volunteers and a whole church approach to making sure that churches are really well maintained.”
The public can join the online awards at 2.30pm on Friday, November 19, and see which of those on the shortlist will be crowned best maintained church, by using the link https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-nayler-awards-for-excellence-in-church-maintenance-virtual-awards-tickets-201528115017
