SALTASH remained in the title hunt with a resounding 47-9 victory at Roseland, who remain rooted to the foot of the Tribute Cornwall One table.

The Ashes' pack took control early on, providing the necessary platform for their back-line to work their attacking skills from all parts of the pitch.

Max Venables capped a fine performance with a hat-trick of tries, in addition to a conversion and two penalty goals.

The remaining Saltash tries came from right-wing Will Morton, scrum-half Rupert Allen and fly-half Joe Skinnard.

In reply, the hosts could only muster three penalties from fly-half Rob Day.
