A SCOUT hut has been the target for vandals following its refurbishment last September.
The Scout hut in Castle Park, Liskeard, has been subject to a number of vandalism attacks.
The most recent damage was done earlier in the week, with vandals spray-painting the walls, but despite painting over it and putting anti-climb paint on the roof, the vandalism is continuing.
Mark Pengelly, who runs the scout group which meets there and looks after the maintenance for the building, has said that, ever since the refurbishment, the vandalism has been ongoing. 'We don't mind them walking through, it's just when they do the vandalism that's so annoying,' said Mark.
Last year, they received a grant from Awards for All of £7,500 and this went towards installing a disabled toilet and provisions so that it had easy wheelchair access. In all £9,000 was spent and, as well as disabled provisions, the whole building was painted.
A spokesman at Liskeard police station said: 'We are aware of the situation and will be carrying out an investigation.'
Mark added: 'It's not the time it takes to fix it all that's annoying, it's all the aggravation it causes.'
