Thank you to the Cornish Times for giving us the opportunity to tell everyone what we thnk about the choice of uniform at the new Hillfort Primary School in Liskeard. When I had the letter home that said we would be having black or green I assumed that going by the numbers returned the school would make the choice of black ot green. I did not realise until last week it will be black or green as a personal choice! What a mess! This has to be stopped. There are several reasons for this: 1. Little infants in black? 2. Different shades of green sweatshirts as parents get sweatshirts from different shops. 3. Faded black sweatshirts as they get washed. 4. The polo shirts (which we have a choice of gold or white) will be all different So we have all these permutations of uniform: n Black sweatshirt with white polo shirt. n Black sweatshirt with gold polo shirt (of varying shades of gold). n Green sweatshirt (of various greens) with white polo shirt n Green sweatshirt with gold polo shirt Can you imagine the school class phots with this mishmash of varying colours and shades? Why can't we have a straight choice and stick to it? I am at a loss as to what else to say except that these views I have stated are the views of every single parent I have talked to. I have not met one yet that thinks this will be a good idea. I am curious to find out if there is anyone out there that welcomes this.
