IN a break from tradition Looe has two Citizens of the Year, who were honoured at a meeting of the town council on Monday. Friends and families were present as Ann Tomkinson, of Looe St John Ambulance Brigade, and Gene Woodman, of the Brownies, were both praised for the work in the town by the mayor, councillor Ron Overd. He said they had been chosen for the honour with thanks on behalf of councillors and the community for their work over the years with young people. Ann was cited for her careful and considerate training of the cadets and Badgers at St John, and Gene for her on-going work with the Brownies of Looe and Polperro and for re-forming the pack in Looe.
