THERE will be a display by the Liskeard/Looe Foodbank on The Parade in Liskeard to welcome the arrival of a Land's End-to-Launceston trolley push which is raising awareness of the charity.

Truro Foodbank manager Bob Girvan is pushing a supermarket trolley 109 miles around Cornwall. He will be greeted as he arrives in Liskeard at around 12.40pm by town crier Chris Smirthwaite and local foodbank volunteers including Andy Queen and Harry Hingston.

The display will include a challenge set for children to see if they can pack a typical food box.

The Liskeard/Looe Foodbank needs a bigger warehouse to cope with the demand from people in crisis and is trying to raise £8,500 to take on the lease of a unit. The HSBC bank has confirmed that it will contribute £3,500 when the unit is obtained.

Bob Girvan will be in Lostwithiel at 9am today and Dobwalls at 11.40am. He will pass through Trerulefoot, Landrake and Saltash, ending at Callington.
