THE Barclay House Group, based at Looe, has scooped three golds in the South West Flavour Awards.

Barclay House and Trawlers On The Quay, both in Looe, won their awards in the South West Best Restaurant category, while The Plough at Duloe gained their gold for South West Pub Dining.

Also gaining gold in the restaurant category were Asquiths of Lostwithiel, and Nathan Outlaw in Rock.

Nathan, the Michelin star celebrity chef, is on course to open a restaurant in Looe.

All gold-awarded venues now go forward to the finals for the naming of the South West's best restaurant and best dining pub of the year at The Eden Project on October 16.

Barclay House Group director Graham Brooks said: 'We're delighted that all three of our restaurants have done so well, especially as we've had a change of chefs but still managed to retain that standard of quality that has put us in the running to be the best in the South West.'

Barclay House was the Best Restaurant title-holder in 2010.

In the Flavour Awards category for tea room/cafe, The Duchy of Cornwall Nursery at Lostwithiel gained a silver.
