TRIBUTES have been paid to a much-loved and respected GP in Liskeard who has died.
Dr Geoff Auckland joined the Parade Surgery in 1980. As well as being a dedicated and hard-working GP, he was also gifted with management skills, say his colleagues. As a result, he was instrumental in developing and organising the move to a new, purpose-built premises at Oak Tree Surgery in 2005.
Partners at the surgery said: ‘It is with much sadness that we report the death of our much loved and respected former senior partner and colleague, Dr Geoff Auckland, on November 28.
‘Dr Auckland was a man of vision and worked hard to ensure that the practice always met the needs of ever-changing health care. Sadly, through illness, he was forced to retire from General Practice in 2012.
‘He will always be remembered by everyone who worked alongside him as a caring, proud family man with a tremendous sense of humour and fun. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this very sad time.’
A book of condolence has been opened in the Oak Tree Surgery waiting room for anyone wishing to share their memories of Dr Auckland.
