The Pelynt Male Voice Choir is holding a fundraising concert at Duloe in support of Christian Aid Week.
The choir, known as ‘Trelawny’s Men’, will use their stirring melodies to help supporters raise funds for Christian Aid which, this year, is highlighting the situation in Sierra Leone, where ten mums a day die giving birth.
Everyone is welcome to the concert at The Jubilee Hall, Duloe at 7.30pm on Saturday May 11. Soloists are Samantha Rowe and Chloe Jones and entry is £6 including refreshments.
Musical Director and local Christian Aid organiser, John Trethewey, said: ‘Singing brings people together, which is what Christian Aid does. Over 20,000 churches take part in Christian Aid Week to support their global neighbour and we are delighted to be part of that movement.’
As well as choir concerts, churches will be organising door-to-door collections, hosting ‘Big Brekkies’ and holding a range of other fundraising activities including a Soup and Sweet Lunch at the Riverside United Church on The Quay, West Looe, from 12 to 2pm on May 16, for £6 per lunch.
