According to research by safe.co.uk, people in the South West still hold sentimental items dear, with old family photos (41%) topping the list of most prized possessions, closely followed by family heirlooms (34%) and jewellery (20%).

However, the research reveals people are not very good at keeping these treasured items safe and only 11 per cent keep them in an actual safe.
