Eighteen people were injured when two trains collided at Plymouth Station earlier today. The driver of one of the trains was among them.

None of the casualties is thought to be seriously injured, although 12 ambulances were called to the scene and eight people were taken to Derriford Hospital.

An Inter-City train and a commuter service were in what was described as a ’low-speed’ collision at Platform 6. The incident, into which an immediate investigation was launched, caused delays to the rail network.
