A cafe owner from South East Cornwall is putting the miles in on the coastal paths of the Rame Peninsula training for the London Marathon.
Ben Crane, owner of Cliff Top Cafe at Whitsand Bay, will be among the thousands of people pounding the streets of the capital on Sunday, April 23.
Making his debut at this distance, Ben is running to raise money in aid of Prostate Cancer UK in memory of two of his regular customers who died from the illness.
The 44-year-old said: ‘Training is going really well so far. I started last November and I’m now up to 20 miles.
‘I’m hoping for a time of about four and half hours, but we’ll just see how things pan out on the day. It’s a great cause and my main aim is to raise as much money as I can for the charity.’
Ben, a former soldier, served in the army for 16 years.
To date Ben has raised more than £1,000.
