POLPERRO Fishermans' Choir will be performing a celebratory concert at Plymouth Pavilions with The Band Of Her Majesty's Royal Marines. The concert, part of the Trafalgar 200 Series will be taking place on Wednesday, April 6, in aid of King George's Fund for Sailors. The choir will be singing the great nautical classics, including Sailing, Softly As I Leave You and Unchained Melody. The band will complement the event with regimental marches, overtures, traditional music and songs from the great composers like Cole Porter. The finale will be packed with Pomp and Circumstance with Nelson's Quick March, Wood's Fantasia on British Sea Songs and Arne's Rule Britannia, Heart Oak and Life on the Ocean Waves to name but a few. Sue Hooper, Mayor of Saltash, is organising the concert in association with Lt Cdr David Walton. Tickets are available from the Plymouth Pavillions box office or Sue Hooper.
