A bouquet of crochet flowers and a bunch of knitted keys are among the items to have appeared in shop windows as a town gears up for its popular annual wool market.

While visitors to Liskeard may be puzzled by bright pink knitted feet on the bottom of benches, to locals, the yarn-bombing is now a regular fixture as the 3 Bags Full group prepare for the crafters’ market on October 5 and a series of workshops, which start on October 7.

The knitted decorations will also be brightening up the town centre during St Matthew’s Fair this weekend, said group member Rachel Brooks.

‘It’s lovely to get such a positive reaction from everyone to the yarn bombing and we’re delighted so many shops and cafes are taking part this year,’ said Rachel.

‘As well as enabling locals and visitors to enjoy the woolly creativity, we hope to raise even more money for Mind this year - they provide crucial support for people experiencing a mental health problem.’
