People have been left shocked after news that a town is to lose its only NHS dentist. Patients of Saltash Dental Surgery received letters last Wednesday informing them the practice was going private.

'We have no idea why after all of these years the dentist has gone to the private sector,' said Saltash resident, Brian Pedley.

'One NHS dentist was never deemed enough in this town and now we are going to be left with none.

'There are a lot of vulnerable people out there that won't know which way to turn.'
