THANK you very much for your article 'Unbelievable pressure' for postal staff in strike (Cornish Times, 02.10.09).
I also work at Looe Delivery Office and I hope the people of Looe can now begin to understand what is happening to their mail service.
My colleague stated the situation at Sunrising Estate. This is also happening on the Downs, where the duty is regularly split between seven or eight posties.
The posties are continually overworked.
We care about our community and that is why we had to strike. We had to stand up not just for ourselves but also for the local community of Looe.
The posties want the town to have a first class service. I am not sure the same can be said about the business that we work for.
