TAX-payers in Liskeard will pay two and a half pence more per week on their local council bill as the Town Council agrees its budget for the year ahead.

During a meeting on Tuesday, councillors voted for a 0.9% increase on the local precept, the share of the council tax which supports the Town Council budget.

In the coming year, Liskeard Town Council will oversee a budget of £500,789, of which more than four fifths comes from the local tax payer.
