Motorists are enjoying the freer flowing traffic in a town centre this morning after more than a month of disruption came to an end.

Three-way traffic lights had been in place on Barras Street in Liskeard while work has been carried out to level the footpath, replace kerbing and to install bollards outside the Wetherspoon pub.

Cornwall Council said that the work had gone over schedule by a few days due to heavy rain and winds.

But one man has expressed anger that his business has been affected, and annoyance over Cormac’s working shifts.

Geoff Teasdale, who owns the Wellbeing Centre on Pigmeadow Lane, said that his bookings had been the worst in 30 years.

‘The workers went home at 3pm on Friday and didn’t work on Saturday,’ he said.

‘I’m angry and frustrated - we’ve been financially hit.’
