TORPOINT Athletic will enter the New Year as leaders of the East Cornwall League as they attempt to regain the Premier Division crown they lost last season by a single point to St Dennis.
Ian Stephens' outfit take on Lanreath, who they beat 4-1 early on in the campaign.
Lanreath are having another difficult season and are flirting with relegation under their new manager, Andy Collins.
Saltash United lie in fourth place and, after an indifferent period – when they lost three of their four matches under new manager Joe Pulley – have responded well by winning their last four games.
The victory at title challengers Sticker just before Christmas was the high point of their good form.
They tackle a Bere Alston outfit who, despite doing well in the Devon Premier Cup, have lost their last four League fixtures.
Newly-promoted St Dominick, under their new manager Andy Reid, have steadied the ship since the departure of Paul Blatchford and then Stuart Cawte, and have settled into a mid-table position.
The Saints are at home to a Tavistock outfit who themselves are holding their own under the new management duo of Gar-field Ewing and Tim May. St Stephens Borough have struggled all season and have just two points from their opening 16 games.
There has been an improvement of late, and losing 1-0 in each of their last three matches shows that their first victory of the season should be just around the corner.
However, the trip to high-flying Elburton Villa may be a bridge too far...
Callington Town are without a game this weekend but will need to get back to winning ways in the New Year to end a three-match losing run.
