PREMIER DIVISION Plymouth Parkway 1 Torpoint Athletic 2 (Wednesday) TORPOINT kept their hopes of catching league leaders Parkway very much alive with this impressive, and deserved, victory in front of a crowd of 206 at Bolitho Park. The visitors were not overawed by their hosts' lofty position at the top of the league, taking the game to them from the first whistle. Bradley Yeo fired just over Parkway's crossbar on 12 minutes, and was left cursing his luck as his 18- yard volley flew just past the post seven minutes later. Parkway's first real effort on goal did not come until the 28th minute when Mark Berry's 25-yard free- kick came back off Joey Syndecombe's bar. The game was in first-half stoppage time when Yeo curled his 20- yard free-kick around the Parkway defensive wall and into the corner of the net. Yeo was on target again, 11 minutes after the break, but this time he let fly from 30 yards and home goalkeeper Tom Blackler could only help the ball into the back of his own net. A bad injury to Parkway's Lee Doel held the game up for 30 minutes, but Torpoint still looked comfortable until a dubious penalty decision gave Berry the chance to hit a late consolation from the penalty spot.
