Seaweed jelly will be a hit at this year’s Looe Raft Race - and chef Ben Palmer has made a step by step video explaining the simple recipe.
Water balloons have traditionally been part of the fun at the summer event, but waste plastic is no fun for the ocean and its wildlife, say the Looe Marine Conservation Group.
The town banned water balloons from the event last year, and the group was successful in getting everyone to swap to harmless seaweed-based jelly, which is just as much fun to throw at the rafters on the river.
Watch Old Sardine Factory chef Ben demonstrate jelly-making in this clip - and look out for lots more about the Looe Raft Race in this week’s Cornish Times, out tomorrow.
