TWO old school friends who ‘braved the shave’ together have raised more than £2,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Jane Powell, who lives in Menheniot, took the fund-raising challenge on in memory of her uncle Terry Finch, who died in October 2013.

Jane says she anticipates a big reaction when she returns to work as a support worker at Morley Tamblyn Lodge in Liskeard.

With an original target of just £500, she says she has been ‘amazed’ at the response to her fund-raising evening at the Sportsmans Arms in Menheniot.

Landlords Steph and Ollie Holman got behind the event and helped to stage a barbecue, raffle and auction.

Joining Jane in her close shave was her old friend Mary Gundry, who lives in Pengover Green.
