With the announcement of Plymouth's waste being dumped at Lean Quarry which in fact is just outside Liskeard, I can not believe I haven't heard an outcry over this. Facts are 24 lorries and their trailers will be thundering up and down the dual carriageway, and later on, many more. Litter will be everywhere in the hedgerows and there will be no resources to clean it up. The smell when there is an easterly wind will hang like a cloud over the town. And if it's true about global warming and the summers are getting hotter, the town will be invaded with flies and if you think you have problems with seagulls now, you are in for a shock. Come on, Liskeard people, wake up before it's too late. We are sitting between everybody's waste, all being dumped in Caradon, Lean Quarry one side, Connon tip the other side and who knows Lantoom Quarry next.
