Once again I must strongly complain about the so-called traffic calming measure in Castle Street, Liskeard. On December 21, 2009 we encountered a fourth major accident at 10.30am and every time there is an accident my drive is blocked by damaged cars, ambulances and/or police cars which are there for several hours making my exit/entrance impossible!

There is also a major problem with planning consent as the planners say the access road is unsuitable for planning due to the amount of traffic now building up outside of my hotel. So I feel now it is time to seek legal action against the highways department.

This so-called traffic calming is the worst thing that has ever happened to this town. I will be withholding my business rates as a token gesture of my disgust over the whole issue of this monstrosity Cornwall Council calls traffic calming.

If the council says it has no money until April to rectify this mammoth mistake, then I have no money to pay for its error of judgement!
