TWO employees from HBH Woolacotts electrical suppliers on Pike Street in Liskeard recently finished as runners-up in a national competition to find the Sky Retailer of the Year. Stan Minnette and Gavin Cole travelled to London to attend the quarter finals of the competition which were held in the Royal Palace Garden, Kensington last Friday. The pair were eventually awarded second place out of 3,000 entrants, with a team from an Exeter branch of Currys running out as overall winners. Retailers were judged on their knowledge of Sky television and were assessed by mystery shoppers, who quizzed employees at every electrical store selling Sky nationwide. Stan, who has been working in the Liskeard branch for four years, said 'This is a little bit of prestige for the store'. The pair won a £1,500 holiday for themselves and a cash prize for HBH Woolacotts following their triumph. Winning second place was a great achievement for Woolacotts, who, with only six branches in the whole of England, were beaten by just three points in the final by a team from a large chain store. Stan said 'Our extensive knowledge of Sky means that we can pass on the best deals and information to all our customers.'
