The Gilbert family from Lincolnshire have asked the Cornish Times to thank the people of Looe for once again making them so warmly welcome on the latest of what they say must be their '1,000th' visit to 'your beautiful' town.
Maureen Fisher (nee Gilbert) from Bourne writes: 'My family and I, a total of some 18 people, spent a wonderful time in Looe over the New Year. Our particular thanks go to Bridgette at Tidal Court for the splendid accommodation and making us feel so much at home.
From reading the Cornish Times I know that some people in the area think of us as so called 'Emmetts' as something of a pain. However , we do appreciate the way, that by and large, you not only put up with us but make us feel welcome.
The fact that you live in such a lovely place means that it is really only fair that you should share it with others now and again'.
