Liskeard A commenced their season in the Mens' Premier Division with an excellent 8-3 win over last season's runners-up, Truro A, thanks particularly to the unbeaten Andrew Jackson/Trevor Greenbank pairing, whose close three set win over Andrew James/Mark Stubbs was an especially creditworthy effort.

In division one, the young Sunnybanks B team gained their first victory with a tight 7-4 win over Bodmin A whilst Truro B had Alan Pritchard and Dave Stil particularly to thank for their 9-3 win at Penzance B.

The only match played in division two east resulted in a 9-4 success for Liskeard B over Wadebridge B.

In division three east, Bude D opened their account with an 8-3 win over Looe with S Eastwood/E Parsons being unbeaten for the winners. Bude C did likewise with an 8-3 win over Bodmin Priory B- in this match the Mick Mason/Richard Pearce pairing remained unbeaten.

In the ladies' division one east, Bude chalked up their second successive convincing victory with an 8-2 win at home to St Austell C, having previously disposed of Wadebridge A by an 8-3 margin. In the only match played in division two east, Liskeard suffered a second successive defeat for Liskeard, who went down 2-9, to provide Looe with their first win of the new season.

Division one: Sunnybanks B 7, Bodmin A 4; Penzance B 3, Truro B 9; St Agnes A 7, Veryan A 4.

Division two (east): Liskeard B 9, Wadebridge B 4.

Division three (east): Bude D 8, Looe 3; Bude C 8, Bodmin Priory B 3.

Ladies' Division one (east): Bude B 8, St Austell C 2; Wadebridge A 3, Bude B 8. Division two (east): Liskeard 2, Looe 9.
