An afternoon tea has raised almost £200 so far for the mental health charity MIND – and has helped to get people talking about an issue that for some still carries a stigma.
The event in Herodsfoot was organised by a local 18-year-old, Alisha, who says a supportive family and employer has made all the difference to her battle with mental health problems.
‘Coming together to help break the stigma around mental health has been a great experience. I want to show everyone that it’s okay to talk about these problems,’ she said.
