The committee had been due to discuss the application to build a new supermarket on land at the Barbican when it met yesterday but in a surprise move it was announced that the agenda item had been withdrawn 'to facilitate further information'.
A council spokesman told the Cornish Times that the item had been withdrawn at the request of the council rather than the developers. More information is being sought with regard to the associated housing scheme and its relationship to the northern boundary of the site and adjoining neighbours' properties.
The spokesman said: 'The applicants are also providing additional information with regards to the proposed petrol filling station and jet wash which does not currently form part of the description of development.'
