THE Cornish Times has received the following message from the Support Ukraine group about an event being held in St Austell tomorrow (Saturday) morning:

"Please don’t forget tomorrow morning 5th March from 10.30am to midday, the Support Ukraine group is holding a gathering in the churchyard of St Austell Parish (Holy Trinity Church) to support the people of Ukraine.

"Wear something blue and something yellow if you can, we need to demonstrate our support for Ukraine in many ways. We are accepting donations tomorrow and every day inside Holy Trinity church.

"Please come and help us, we are looking for volunteers to help with our ongoing collection of supplies and delivery to Ukraine. We have many new programmes planned as the Ukraine crisis is going to be with us for some time.

"Please bring items to donate, Space Blankets, Bandages, Plasters, Torches and Batteries, slings, crutches, wheelchairs, antiseptic creams, burn creams, baby milk, nappies, wipes and sanitary products.

"Please donate money to Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Fund."
