COULD I, through the good offices of the Cornish Times, thank all the wonderful people of Liskeard and surrounding areas who through many years supported Christine and myself during our fundraising activities for the many good causes we were connected with.

Through 58 glorious years of marriage, Christine was always ready to do whatever she could to help any organisation with her fundraising skills.

A witness to this are the many cards and letters of condolences the family and I have received since she passed away.

So many, in fact, that I cannot reply to them individually and so I take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all of the 200-plus individuals and organisations who have given me such support since my overwhelming loss.

They have been a great comfort and have helped me through this period of time which we know must come to us all.

My thanks also to the district nurses and Macmillan nurse who took care that Christine did not suffer any pain during her illness. Thanks also to the specialist, doctors and nurses in Derriford Hospital for their dedication while she was in their care.

I must also thank Canon Tony Ingleby and Liz Piper for conducting the service and not forgetting our good friend, Kevin Grant, who paid such a wonderful tribute to Christine.

Finally, thank you to my extended family for their wonderful help and support over these very hard times.

Christine asked me to continue our good work before she passed peacefully away and this I promised to do.

So, our good friends, thank you once again, I will see you when I get back to some semblance of normality in the not too distant future.
