SUPERFAST broadband is on the agenda for a community meeting.

Residents can find out more at the Cornwall Gateway Community Network Panel’s meeting on Tuesday (September 12) in Torpoint Town Council’s Committee Room.

Tish Roberts, project manager for Superfast Cornwall, will be giving an update on rollout in the Cornwall Gateway area.

This will include an overview of the areas to be upgraded under the new programme and information on how people can apply for a grant if they are not covered by these plans.

There will also be updates on neighbourhood plans and Cornwall Gateway Community Network Panel’s priorities, including air quality in Tideford.

Panel chair Cllr Derek Holley said: ‘This is a chance for everyone to come along and learn more about the panel’s work on this and other local issues.  You’ll be able to ask questions and meet your local Cornwall, town and parish councillors.’

The panel meets quarterly to focus on areas including anti-social behaviour, economic development, the environment, community planning, regeneration, conservation, community safety, transport and highway issues.

It includes all eight Cornwall Councillors for the area and representatives of the 11 parishes in the network: Antony, Botus Fleming, Landrake with St Erney, Landulph, Maker-with-Rame, Millbrook, Saltash, Sheviock, St Germans, St John and Torpoint.

The meeting, which is open to the public, takes place from 6.30pm to 8.30pm in the Committee Room, Torpoint Town Council.
