Success for young viola players

Promising young musicians - these viola players, all pupils of Mrs Vicky van der Vliet of St Germans, are celebrating much success.

Laurence O'Neill and Rebecca Kellagher (back row, left) have both been accepted into The National Youth Children's Orchestra of Great Britain. Laurence has also won the Olive Unsworth Cup for violin 9 years and under and Rebecca The City of Plymouth Light Orchestra Cup for the string player of any age showing the most promise for the future.

Also pictured are Dominic Woodfield, winner of the Ltd Cdr Crabb R N cup for 11 years and under and the Melody Memorial Trophy for duet playing, and Susannah Kellagher who has won the Vicky van der Vliet trophy for violin 7 years and under. All four pupils won cups at the recent Plymouth Music Festival.
