Caradon B enjoyed a comprehensive 8-3 victory over Stag A in the Robert Frizzel Memorial Team Knockout Final.

They took a 4-2 lead in the first set of singles with wins from Matt Hogan, R Rendle, Richard Paul and Pete Crowle, and then added pressure by taking all three doubles matches through Steve Rendle and Peter Crowle, Julian Reynolds and Matt Hogan, and R Rendle and Richard Paul for a 7-2 lead.

Dave Stevens took the opening singles game for Stag A in the final matches, but the comeback was quickly thwarted by Pete Crowle who sealed the cup for Caradon with his second defeat of Dave Walters.

Will Doidge enjoyed a successful finals evening taking six titles to add to his team success with Porters A. First came the Raymond Piper Memorial Singles where he triumphed 3-0 over former champion John Harris.

He was then involved in a gruelling Charity Doubles Final where together with Andy Hicks they narrowly defeated Richard Ivey and Chris Langmaid 3-2. Will then retained his League Singles title beating Ken Crowle 3 frames to 0.

Will the Wizard was then joined by sister Anita Ivey who conquered Matt Hogan and Sarah Lewis three straights to lift the elusive Mixed Doubles Title, being last years runners up.

Matt Hogan and Jeremy Rendle provided the opposition in the League Doubles Final where Doidge was again partnered by Andy Hicks. Hogan was unlucky to go in off after potting a superb black, and Doidge and Hicks took full advantage, eventually winning 3-1.

Will and Andy were joined by Brian Phillips in the Arthur Hawke Trebles Final and triumphed 3-0 over the Devils Trio of Richard and Jan Pearce and Richard Hooper.

Nathan Gilbert was elated after a thrilling 3-2 victory over John Harris in the Charity Singles Final. Harris looked favourite in the decider after leaving the black over the pocket, but Nathan produced a wonderful clearance, screwing the cue ball off five cushions to attempt position on his final colour.

The white however, did not land very kindly, but Gilbert held his nerve to pot the thin cut and prevail as champion.

Zoe Harris clinched her fifth Ladies Singles title with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Anya Kessell in a match that was played at the White Horse last Monday.
