STUDENTS and staff from Callington Community College recently returned from spending a week in the town of Alhaurin de la Torre, near Malaga in the south of Spain.
Seventeen students and two members of staff learnt about the Spanish language and lifestyle as part of the fifth annual Spanish exchange.
Activities included a vist to Ronda and Sierra de las Nieves, where the group climbed up a snowy mountain, a day in Seville and a day at the school where students took part in lessons with their exchange partners and went to a local cafe for churros and chocolate – a typical Spanish snack.
Students stayed with local host families, where they could practise their language skills and sample the Spanish lifestyle and food first hand.
In the evenings, they met up to go bowling, watch films and eat together.
The Spanish students are due to visit Callington in April.
