The Maritime Archaeology Trust is asking Cornish families to contribute to a project researching and recording First World War shipwrecks along the south coast.

Entitled Forgotten Wrecks of the First World War, the four-year project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, aims to raise awareness of the often overlooked local maritime aspect of the conflict.

The charity would be particularly keen to hear from people who had relatives working or fighting off England's south coast during the conflict. Contact chris.whiley@maritimearchaeolo
