Convenience stores in South East Cornwall will closing early this evening as managers allow their staff to get home to see England play Italy in the Euro 2020 final.

Gilletts Callington Ltd which operate 89 SPAR stores in the South West region is closing all of its shops at 7.30pm.

A poster in one of the Looe stores says: “It’s coming home….so we’re going home at 19.30 on Sunday 11 July.

“Our colleagues deserve some time off to watch the final, so we’re closing all our stores early.

“Thankyou for your understanding.”

Meanwhile Co-op stores across the country will also be closing their doors at 7.45pm to enable employees to watch the game.
