Steaks were Cornish

With reference to your mention of the Punch Bowl Inn in last week's 'Village Views'.

I work alongside chef Christopher Charity in the kitchen of this marvellous Inn, having qualified as a chef in 1978. I did (of course) question Chris about those supposed 'English steaks', and was told they were Cornish steaks bought from a very local supplier, as is everything else at the Punch Bowl.

In fact he told you that they were Cornish steaks which you for some reason wish to change to 'English steaks'.
