On an overcast afternoon the threat of rain contrasted with a dry wicket as Liskeard skipper Jim Maunder opted to bat first.

The St Neot bowling attack started accurately, with Masters finding the edge of Maunder's bat in the first over.

At the other end David Eldridge found pace and bounce off the wicket and soon had Chamberlain caught at slip.

Perrett, at number three, fell to a superb one-handed catch at slip by Chris Lovell as Eldridge tore through Liskeard's top order.
