ST MELLION'S outgoing captain, Keith Field, gave a review of the year at the golf club's recent AGM, which was attended by 55 Fossils.

Keith extended his thanks to the committee and individual members, and especially to out-going president Stuart Elliott, who has enjoyed three years in office.

He also welcomed into office the new president, John Singleton, and captain, Robin Hancock.

The captain highlighted the high numbers of Fossils entering the diverse weekly competitions throughout the year.

He also recalled the reg-ular 'Early Birds' who arrived, often in darkness, eager to get those drives down the first fairway every week.

Keith spoke of the enjoyment of playing in the 22 friendly matches arranged each season and urged as many Fossils to offer their names for next term.

He also congratulated Bob Acford on his appointment as captain of Cornwall Seniors' Golfing Association; Andrew Corfield, St Mellion men's vice-captain, and all of the new committee members.
