For the second year running a garden designed by Eden Project horticulture apprentices has scooped the top prize at the Cornwall Garden Society Spring Flower Show.

The team of young gardeners have won a Large Gold Medal and retained the prestigious Banham Cup for  Best Show Garden.

The show continues today at Boconnoc Estate near Lostwithiel, and the apprentices are on hand to talk about the garden.

Their Hansel and Gretel garden features a gingerbread house covered in moss, succulents, edible tulips and a cauldron-shaped decorative swing.

It has been created by first-year apprentices Meg Lowman, Debs Ryan and Will Swann and second-year apprentice Hope Browne under the guidance of Eden horticulturists Emma Gunn and Riyah Snow, herself a former Eden apprentice.
